Customs, Immigrations, and USCG
One of the most important functions of an Agent is to coordinate efforts of regulatory bodies with jurisdiction over the vessel during docking. Prior to arrival, we will notify and update the US Coast Guard, US Customs, US Immigration and the US Department of Agriculture of vessel ETA. We will be available during compliance and enforcement boarding.
Central Marine Logistics, Inc. will assist with the ships Manifest by preparing all US Customs documents before the vessel arrives. We will meet US Customs and arrange for Entrance and Clearance. On out bound cargo, we issue a Bill of Lading and send documents to shipper and US Customs.
Local Knowledge
As agents on Lake Michigan, we stay current on all navigational issues that may effect a ship transit. We keep the Master and Pilot well informed of berthing prospects, water levels, traffic conditions and tug services.
Dock & Cargo
We maintain relationships with dock managers, stevedores, and surveyors to be sure all are ready for cargo operations when the vessel arrives. Our primary goal is to facilitate cargo handling, in the most safe and efficient manner to maximize vessel efficiency.
Crew Services
We can arrange for medical or dental services for crew members. For crew changes, we can arrange for US Immigration inspection, airport pickup/drop off and local hotel accommodations.
Vessel Services
Following owners protocol, we can arrange for ships supplies through local chandlers. If repairs are needed, we can arrange through trusted service vendors.
